He is believed to be a convicted felon, imprisoned for the murder of a woman believed to be his fiancée or wife. The game has gained relatively good traction after hunts from numerous myth groups brought the game to light and joining the group [[concinnity()]] has only further given it a rise in popularity. ==Biography== Somnl is theorised to be a convicted felon after the murder of his wife or fiancée took place. It is stated through the cryptic clue given in concinnity()'s game's description that somnl lived a harmonious and peaceful life until he "let them get to you from the other side". This suggests that, during a deep slumber, an entity of another universe somehow persuaded or hypnotised somnl into killing his wife / fiancée and somnl had to go into hiding. He stayed in a motel for a night until being caught soon after by the police. He has noted his journey in his diary, found in multiple parts of the game, and is now currently residing behind bars. He still seems to dream of the incident and the ensuing aftermath in an abstract fashion, characterised by his game. ==History== Somnl's account was made on the 17th of January, 2019, and his game was made on the same day. It is unknown when his game was made public but the game was found and popularised on the 1st of February, 2020. From here, the game would gain traction through hunts and being friended to a few notable individuals such as [[recklesshavok]] and [[Meondo]]. On the 14th of September, 2020, somnl would join the group concinnity() and on the 26th of September, he had a cryptic clue left in the description of concinnity()'s game relating to his story. Somnl eventually had an investigation report created about them by a hunter named, [https://www.roblox.com/users/117329205/profile Fedespectly], from the [[Roblox's Myths Intelligence Agency]]. This simply contained details about somnl's profile and game, and was created on January 2nd, 2021. After a long inactivity, somnl would come online and unexpectedly join the group Paradox of Myths (at the time called Paradox of Myths). After this he would once again go inactive. Somnl remained fairly dormant after joining concinnity(), very rarely coming online whatsoever until the game's last update on the 26th of August, 2022, where he improved the game in some aspects including making it clearer that the building found on the fourth island was a motel and giving it a second story. along with adding general building and scripting improvements along with a new song. A secret, non-functioning portal was also removed in this update although it is unclear when the portal was added to the game in the first place. On the 12th of April, 2023, somnl would slightly change his avatar and would also leave the group Paradox of Myths on the 19th of April. ==Appearance== Somnl has no accessories or clothing other than [https://www.roblox.com/catalog/4721402674/unnamed " "], which is a picture of the statue found on the spawning point in the game. He has dark pink legs, a purple head and arms and a darker violet torso. This is presumably what he sees himself as when he is dreaming. In his corporeal form, he can be seen wearing either a stained green shirt and jeans or an orange jumpsuit, depending on the time period. In April 2023, somnl would also add the "[https://www.roblox.com/catalog/7699193 Frightful]" face to his outfit. ==Personality and Traits== Although rarely, somnl has been seen in-game before. He usually speaks with proper grammar and speaks of what he's seen. It is said that he has other personalities as well and can alternate between them. He has also been noted to send messages rarely, with one such instance being to recklesshavok with the question: "You like to dream too?". ==Game== === [https://www.roblox.com/games/2756721737/Solitary Solitary] === Solitary is a pink, studded island-type game revolving around the use of touch and click triggers to progress throughout the game. It details Somnl's story of his guilt involved in killing his wife or fiancée in multiple seemingly lore-important locations and his eventual capture and arrest by the police. The player spawns on an island in the sky with a reflective boat behind them. Falling off of the map at any time will result in the player being kicked with the message "You can't escape this." being displayed. There is a path that travels through the island where the player can find a large statue, found on somnl's shirt, and a bench with a ring on it. This is theorised to be a park where somnl likely proposed to his late fiancée. Clicking on the ring found on the bench will activate a new island that can be found by taking a right turn, straying away from the main pathway and going to a branching segment. The player will find themselves walking across a bridge to an adjacent island. This island is small and contains only one structure, a small, white gazebo containing a solitary grave with a cross embedded upon its front. Touching this grave will summon another island to the left of the current one along with a bridge for access. The next island is notably reflective as a whole, this may mean something although no theories have been made public of it. The island contains a walkway, lined with three pillars on either side of the track, to a large tree with a book leaning against its trunk. Clicking on the book will summon a new island, beginning from the remaining path back at the spawning point. It will also halt the players movements and begin a text prompt on the screen. It displays three texts: "After what I've done, I've been on the run..", "I feel lonely, I have nobody please help me, It was never my fault..." and "I can't control it.". Upon the final text being uttered, the map gradually becomes darker and the moon rises into the sky. The music also slows down considerably. On the new island, a two-story motel can be found. The top floor is inaccessible, however, leaving only the bottom floor, which is a singular room, available for exploration. Within the room, there is the typical motel paraphernalia such as a wardrobe and a bed. However, a large, black case can be found on the bed along with a diary, presumably somnl's as seen from the previous island, a pencil and a picture depicting somnl and a woman sitting on the bench found at the spawning point. This picture is clickable and, upon being clicked, spawns an additional piece of the island from the motel. It also lightens up the map and hastens the song back to its original tempo. On the new island, the accurate version of somnl can be seen walking down a path, away from the motel, presumably on the run after his murder. Attempting to walk past somnl will trigger the ghost of the woman seen in the picture in the motel room. She stands behind somnl, seemingly attempting to grab his shoulder. The game also begins to flash blue and red, signifying that the police have caught on to his actions. Along with this, the island is further extended to what seems to be a decently bland island with nothing but the usual arboreal life and the pathway. Reaching roughly the halfway point of this island will extend it further, adding a small flight of steps up to yet another island, this time with a small, wooden bridge at the end, leading to his floating diary which is surrounded by small, rotating figurines. Colossal gravestones surround the final few islands and a watery layer is added below the game. Reaching the halfway point of this final island, the monstrously large, incorporeal form of the fiancée appears again, this time floating in the water with both arms reaching upwards towards the player. Clicking on somnl's floating diary will have the screen fade to black. The player will then awaken to the scene of somnl, from his perspective, laying on a prison bunk, watching guards outside of his cell discuss something. The screen will fade to black once more and the player will be kicked with the message "This is the only thing I have left.." being displayed. ==Group== ===[[Concinnity()]]=== somnl joined concinnity() on the 14th of September, 2020, and had a cryptic clue left in the description of concinnity()'s game on the 26th of the same month. He has remained in the Prison rank since joining the group, befitting of his current story. == Theories== *'''Somnl is able to astral project''' ** Somnl can sometimes be found in other myth's games in his dream state, most likely meaning that he is astral projecting. **He mentions how he can "travel", suggesting that he is able to move freely which is only plausible through astral projection considering his current imprisonment. *'''The colour of the islands represents somnl's perceived innocence in himself''' **In dreams, it is stated that the colour pink can mean a multitude of things. Importantly, one such thing is innocence. **Somnl truly believes himself to be innocent, choosing to blame otherworldly beings for his actions **Somnl also likely still loves his deceased partner, strengthening the reasoning of the pink colouring. ==Trivia== *Somnl seems to know of [[Littlenathanial]], as seen when he mentions seeing a "red boy" in one of his travels. *Somnl used to be friends with a variety of myths and myth hunters, but has since unfriended them all and replaced them with his current friends, lanorc and WesleySecret *Originally, the game had a version of the song Moonrise Kingdom by Prima as the game's theme.
