History
Myth Investigation Service was created on the 1st of November, 2021. Prior to this, the founder 0verdesire had an older group, named "Myth hunting co." This group was created in early 2019 and was quite active for some time, reaching around 1.5k+ members. This group was eventually lost by 0verdesire, when their original account "FlowingFar" was terminated due to them having a virus in their game. After this termination, 0verdesire went inactive, not returning to Roblox until September 2021.
A month after returning, they created their new group "Myth Investigation Service". This group grew quite quickly, gaining 100 members after only a month after it's creation and later gaining 1.2K+ members after a year of it's creation. Eventually, 0verdesire would once again go inactive due to them being sent off to boarding school and lacking internet access. During this time, a malicious admin kicked all of the members in the group, most notably Stalzie, everyism, SterKhy and Bhindism.
When 0verdesire finally returned to Roblox on June 23rd, 2023, he re-opened Myth Investigation Service and it quickly grew popular. It reached the milestone of 200 members after 14 days of being re-opened, and eventually hit 500 members in August, 2023. Later on the 17th of September, 2023, the group hit the 1k+ member milestone. After this, 0verdesire decided to retire from the Myth Community, and sold the group to the user "000XTR" aka, Damaxia. This user is extremely controversial due to a multitude of reason, such as owning the controversial group "Myths Uncopylocked". 0verdesire was unaware of Damaxia's reputation and gave him the group, which led to the group being closed on the 19th of November, 2023, which was apart of his Myths Uncopylocked project.
Later on the 7th of January, 2024, 0verdesire would return and bought back Myth Investigation Service from Damaxia. After 0verdesire got the group back, many notable myths joined the group, and the group would become extremely active, gaining 1,5K+ members soon after the group was returned to 0verdesire.
On the 19th of January, the highly controversial user Kazdam returned to Roblox. During his very brief return, he appeared to do a number of things, such as change his profile description, as well as joining Myth Investigation Service. It would take some time for him to be blacklisted by 0verdesire, however during his brief time where he wasn't blacklisted, he allegedly gave some advice to 0verdesire on how to run a successful myth hunting group. Eventually, he would be blacklisted and later was kicked by 0verdesire. What the reasons were for Kazdam joining MIS of all other groups is unknown.
On February 9th, 0verdesire would release their game "MIS Myth Containment Facility", which almost immediately gained many visits, having 1.3k+ visits after only a week of it's release. Later on the 14th of February, Myth Investigation Service gained 2k+ members.
On June 8th, 2024, the Myth Investigation Service Myth Awards were hosted at the Electra Theatre at 8 P.M Eastern Standard Time. It had around 35 players two hours and a half before it began. An hour before the event began, numerous popular bloggers in the myth community such as Filthco and numerous famous myths such as 74j joined in. When it began, the player count impressively reached around 200 players.
