NathanialsNightmares is a popular myth, primarily known for their association with the myth Littlenathanial and their game "Culmination". They created their account in February 2016 and began development on their game in October. Their game consists of a series of abstract islands, which uses triggers and teleports to progress.
Biography
Due to the abstract nature of NathanialsNightmares' game, it is very hard to create a coherent story from it. Judging by the myth's name, the game is likely meant to be a nightmare which Nathanial has had. There are multiple pieces of proof to validate this theory (see the Theories section for more information).
History
NathanialsNightmares joined Roblox on the 10th of February, 2016. Despite this, there is no known activity from the account until October, when NathanialsNightmares created his first game, "Culmination", and uploaded his iconic t-shirt, called "A normal tie" It is worth noting that on September 25th, 2016, on the Littlenathanial Roblox account, a subplace also named "Culmination" was created. This appears to be the original location where the Culmination game was hosted, prior to the usage of NathanialsNightmares.
The version of "Culmination" hosted on NathanialsNightmares' account was created on October 15th, 2016, with a subplace having been created earlier on October 2nd. Since the creation of the game, it has received many updates but none of much significance. Notably in 2018, four audios were uploaded to the NathanialsNightmares, with them most likely corresponding to different areas in Culmination and their subgames. Later on in 2022, after the audio privatization update, Littlenathanial uploaded four more audios, with those being reuploads of the former soundtracks in Culmination.
On January 16th, 2021, four games were created on the NathanialsNightmares account titled "scrap" with a number after it. Three out of these four games are private, although it has notably been public which can be seen by the fact that they all have a small amount of visits. The only public game, "scrap 4", ends with a broken teleport, which most likely would send the player to one of the other "scrap" games.
Appearance
The appearance of NathanialsNightmares is an exact copy of Littlenathanial's Roblox avatar, as are most of "Nathanial" accounts' avatars. His avatar consists of "Dusty rose" colored arms and legs, with a "Medium red" colored torso and head. Alongside this, he also wears the "A normal tie" t-shirt accessory.
Personality and Traits
Due to never having been seen ingame, it is unknown how NathanialsNightmares acts.
Games
Culmination
Culmination is NathanialsNightmares' main game and his biggest. It takes place on a series of green island with a water-like fluid passing between them. It uses triggers and teleports as its main way of getting the player to progress through the game. Like most of Nathanial’s games, it is highly representative and metaphorical. A core mechanic used in the game can be seen right from when you spawn is that the game attempts to force you to walk a certain path along the first island and then sends you back to the spawn point again. This repeats, which can become annoying when attempting to find and get to more areas later on in the game.
Walkthrough warning, please attempt to hunt before viewing, click "Show More" to view.
Upon spawning, the player will be able to see that they are on a rather oddly shaped island with a few more unnatural islands on both sides along with blue lines of water that suddenly change direction in mid-air, giving a feeling of slight discomfort due to how unnatural they both look. The player will also shortly notice that they are being forced to walk along the island they spawn on and back repeatedly unless they move, stopping the game from moving them for a short while before it attempts to do it again.
The first trigger, in order to progress, is at the end of the starting island. The player has to walk over (or let the game take them) to the end and jump off, touching the side whilst they fall. This will activate a small stone portal with a beam coming out the back of it, showing them where the player will go once they step into it.
The player has to walk through the portal. It will transport them to an island placed higher than the rest of them. There are two triggers here. The first can be found on the side of the island that faces the other islands currently active. The player has to jump into a hole and walk down the narrow passage slightly. They will know when the trigger is activated because the music will slow down. This will activate a path outside of the hole they entered.
The player has to walk down the path they just activated. On the way to the end, they will pass two buildings and a tree. Going up to the tree and pointing their cursor around the base of it will reveal a click detector. It is unknown what its purpose of it is. Continuing to the end, there will be a hoop attached to the end of the path. The player has to jump into it to activate the next part of the path.
The player will fall into a structure that might somewhat resemble a train. If they are too laggy they may fall into the void before the parts are activated. The top of the structure has an extension forwards, seemingly leading to nothing. Walk the length of this path until the player reaches the pillar-like stone block with a hole and a ledge at the top. They have to jump onto the ledge. It is a slightly difficult jump but possible with some luck. Once they successfully climb onto the ledge, the next part will appear at the end of the extension on the top of the structure.
One of two things will activate next. The player will either get a huge block that comes from the ocean with a pile of trees on the top and a doorway in it. This leads to a small maze with no real end. They could also get the same maze block but inverted and upside down. Go in the maze (if it is not inverted), take the left route, the right, then go straight on and right again. Ignoring any other turns will lead the player to a hole. Falling in it will lead to them being unable to leave without resetting. The hole also has a breathing noise.
Going back to the island after the portal, the second trigger is at the top of a long section of the island with a small pool of water at the top, where another line of water comes from. There is an invisible truss at the side that faces the starting islands. The player has to climb up the truss and touch the pool of water to activate the next part in front of them.
The player will see a long pathway leading to a large block coming out of the ocean with a couple more trees on it and a semi-spiral staircase leading to another floating building with a few smaller islands to the left of it. They have to go into the building and touch the left corner and the next part should appear on the large block.
The player will see a bridge-like structure with multiple lines of water traveling through it and down into the sea below. Past the bridge, another island is waiting. It has a staircase that leads downwards onto another pathway that goes through the water lines from the bridge and then abruptly ends. The next part can be activated when the player ignores the stairs and jump onto the part of the island that is behind them with the lightest green tree on it. This will activate a rather large chunk of the place.
The player will see the abrupt path now continues, leading past four tall but thin houses and into an enclosed, long structure. While going into this structure, it is advised to stay on the side due to holes in the floor potentially killing you. The player has to get to the end of the structure and on the inside, there should be a ledge at either side of them. They go on either and attempt to jump on top of the structure. Once they do this successfully, they will teleport to a new place in a few seconds.
The player will teleport to “NathanialsNightmares’s Place”. This is a foggy, grey chain of rooms. In the room behind them when you spawn, there are a few platforms going up that are inaccessible without two players. There is nothing at the top though. Going forwards, the player is greeted with a hole that is outlined in black. Falling into this hole gets them stuck with no walkspeed. They are buried and the top is sealed. Resetting is the only way to escape the hole. Going past the hole, the player will see the statue representing “Death” that appears throughout Nathanial’s games and behind it is an empty room.
