Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.— OldHughes
OldHughes is a Roblox myth who is known for his game "A Quiet Settlement".

Biography

OldHughes is a young man who lives in a small town in the Southern United States. He lives in some sort of hotel building within the town. All across the town there can be found wanted posters for OldHughes. The exact reason for these wanted posters is unknown but it's believed to be for murder. Dead bodies can be found in the back room of the bank. It's unknown if these are related to OldHughes but it's likely.

History

OldHughes' account was made on January 26, 2017. Not a lot is known about the beginning of their myth or how they gained popularity, but it is known that they were relatively unknown until 2019, when they were first shouted in RMH. Soon after he was added to Myth Places to Investigate. Since then, OldHughes has slowly gained more popularity, despite no updates or activity on his account.

His game received its last update on the 30th of March of the same year. He also uploaded a single decal on that day, titled "A Photo of Me At My New House". The decal was a screenshot in which OldHughes was waving while standing in front of a monochromatic house in a Panama Hat. The description of the decal stated that he was "soon to be moving in", which may have hinted that there was supposed to be another game, but it never ended up being released.

Appearance

OldHughes is a man whose attire consists of a single brown cloth that covers his body and legs. He can also be seen wearing a Panama Hat on one of his decals. It's also present in his game.

Personality and Traits

There is little to nothing known about how OldHughes acted, since he hasn't logged on to Roblox ever since he last updated his game and uploaded a decal.

Game

A Quiet Settlement

The game is almost completely monochromatic, with all the buildings being grey. It features a graveyard that has 6 gravestones and a swing with what seems to be a little girl sitting beside it, a sheriff's office, a hotel, a bar, a shop, a clock tower, and, lastly, a train station.

The hotel building has a poster attached to it which states that OldHughes is a wanted criminal, and capturing him (whether dead or alive) will grant whoever does that 10k dollars. You can also find OldHughes himself in one of the hotel rooms with a printer, and his hat laying on a bench on the highest floor of the aforementioned hotel.

The shop has a backroom with 3 dead bodies and one severed head on a hook. You can glitch into the room or access it by going to one of the corners of the map (where the train tracks end).

The hands of the clock on the clock tower are frozen at 3.

The sheriff's office has a poster of OldHughes that's identical to the one near the hotel. Touching one of the walls of said building will teleport you inside the clock tower, where you'll see the girl from the graveyard sitting on a chair, which might hint that she plays a bigger role in the story.
