JUNE 10 2023 @ 7 CT, 8 EST— The description of the gameRM Prom 2023 was an event game hosted by Roblox's Myths in Summer 2023. The idea first came up in June 2023, around the time of the RM revival which was in production at the time. After negative backlash which stemmed from the event, Roblox's Myths' revival was canceled and the group was transformed into a platform to spread the accusations pushed against Universities.
Overview
RM Prom 2023 takes place in a slightly altered version of The Masquerade game hosted by Karmascouture. The game consists of a large ballroom with 2 floors, and then some smaller rooms such as the bathrooms.
Walkthrough
When spawning in, you are in front of the masquerade building. When entering the building, you have three routes which you can walk to. To the left is a dinning room and to the right are bathrooms. To the front are the stairs to the second floor. The second floor comprises of five dinning tables with eight seats each. To the right of these dinning tables is a large room filled with trees and fireflies. It also has a large fountain. If you walk down the stairs you will reach a six tables with a stage at the end of the hall. The entire game has different Masqueraze decorations which also existed in the original Masquerade game.
History
While playing an archived 2018 version of Circus in The Sky, the idea of the RM Prom first came up. It was seen as a funny idea by the people there, including the (at the time) owner of Roblox's Myths, LatinaLivia. After this, the RM Prom game was created on the 27th of May, 2023. Several people joined the game and they eventually teased that the event would be held sometime in June. On the 28th, two pieces of formal attire was created for the event[1][2]. Later on, it was announced that the event would take place on June 10th, at 7PM EST.
On June 10th, the event actually began a lot earlier, due to an influx of people joining prior to the 7PM EST start time. The event itself did not contain a lot, other than a Prom King & Queen event. The game also suffered from a lot of lag, due to the enormous amount of people. The server originally had a 300 player limit, which was lowered to 200 players. This caused a lot of anger from community members who were not able to join the game again. The event also faced some criticism for bringing back Goldity, despite it not being the actual account. The event ended with an announcement for the "RM Awards", which would've been held in July of 2023, and the entire game being blown up by "someone mysterious".
Due to the massive backlash from the event, it was announced that RM would once again close down.
Trivia
- A total of 7000+ visits have been amassed on videos covering the event.
- According to the ROBLOX Badge under the game, a total of 362 people attended the event[3].
