Biography

In 1969, RobertHermlin worked as a scientist in a military research facility during the Vietnam War. He worked there for fourteen years until he saw a meteorite fall into a field one day while going home. He pulled over to see what it was and saw the meteorite cracked open and a purple glowing shard inside. He went back to the facility and called his friend Billy Farley to analyze it. While he and Billy examined the shard, Billy dropped it, causing it to blow up and a portal to open below them. The portal had a strong gravitational force and was pulling Billy in. Robert held onto Billy preventing him from slipping into the portal, when Billy kindly told him to let go, to which Robert obliged. After the incident, the facility closed down due to the shard explosion rupturing the pipes and the electricity. After its shutdown, Robert's been using the abandoned to make portals to one day save Billy.
