therulerofnothing is a myth that is most known for his game, "valley of the kings". He created his account in 2013 but likely became a myth sometime later, possibly in 2015 or 2017. Eventually he would create the "Concinnity()", which led to him gaining a lot of popularity from the myth community. His myth is about the "king of kings" a ruler who rules of nothing, as he sees all things below him to be worthless. However, in 2024, during the group's webcomic, he is revealed to actually be the antagonist.
Biography
therulerofnothing is considered a "king of kings", but he rules nothing, as he doesn't want to rule anything below him, as he considers ruling the most valued over him a true ruling than anything, and considers ruling dust/humans to serve no purpose. He is looking for valued dust that can figure out his last secret in his domain/game, and they'll be rewarded with ascension and the secrets of the creation of the universe.
In actuality, Ruler did used to rule something. In his time, he was once a pharaoh who went possibly by the name of Ramesses II (Ozymandias acording to greek sources) during the Nineteenth Dynasty of the New Kingdom in Ancient Egypt. He was regarded as the most successful, celebrated and powerful ruler in his own rich empire. However, because nothing can last forever in time's way, his empire was starting to collapse and reduce to sand over time, eventually dying of severe dental problems, arthritis and hardening of the arteries.
In a book found hidden underneath the summerhouse(?) in the group game (previous update) and webcomic, Ruler somehow found a way to cheat death through immortality and later found a dimension with literally nothing in it that he could turn into his new kingdom, a successor. To do that, he trapped a group of individuals in their own dreams and possibly suck their life forces out as life energy, possibly to beat out Ugrerkobbbog who is considered as the most feared entity in the universe.
He has a group of minions fannamed the Husks, who are also slaves and most likely the remnants of those whose soul energy were completely assimilated. Along with them is The All-Seeing Sun (possibly EverythingSeen) who keeps an 'eye' on the dreamers and the warden Garkeil, who is possibly responsible for trapping everyone into their own dreams and keeping them in check from within his domain, making sure no one escapes their own bubble...
It is possible that the main cast from the webcomic will likely defeat Ruler and free its prisoners.
History
therulerofnothing joined on the 5th of July, 2013, and was seemingly active on this account early on, due to him having the "Combat Initiate" badge prior to him having the "Veteran" badge, which is attained when an account has become a year old. They also have the "Knight of the Blood Moon" accessory and the "Opened Legit Gift Of Validated Electronic Mail" accessory, which were items attained by verifying ones account with an email prior to 2014 and 2015 respectively. Another sign of early activity are a plethora of early models, all of which being named "%", having been uploaded to therulerofnothing account in 2013. This object in his group game is referred to as the "Dark Star". All of these models were also updated in 2017, which is a sign that therulerofnothing began being active in 2017, which can also be seen by the upload date of therulerofnothing's t-shirt "Forever".
therulerofnothing's game, "valley of the kings" was made the same day as he joined. This game received a few updates after 2013, with a notable update coming in 2019 when the soundtrack of the game had to be changed to a very distorted version of the original due to copyright. The last time the game received an update was in late 2020.
On the 8th of April, 2019, Littlenathanial posted a picture of a wheel with multiple symbols from myths in it. therulerofnothing's was one of them therefore making him a part of the supposed collaboration. On the 29th of August, 2020, therulerofnothing made the group "concinnity()" to tell everyone the stories of multiple of the most mysterious myths. When the group was created, it had a total of 15 members, with 5 more members having been added the next day. On the 3rd of October, 2020, therulerofnothing revealed his own story in cryptic wording on the concinnity() group game.
Throughout the next couple years, most of the activity from therulerofnothing came from him updating the concinnity() group game and from him letting in new myths into the concinnity() group.
On the 29th of August 2022, Ruler lost his account thus resulting in concinnity() to be put on hold. Until on the 3rd of September, when therulerofnothing was spotted online, hinting that he got his account back.
Appearance
therulerofnothing has a black torso and right leg with the rest of him being coloured really black. He wears the knight helmet and the trim head along with the "Studs" shirt and the "Forever" t-shirt (now removed). He is also equipped with the Executioner Sword of the Servant Knight.
Personality and Traits
therulerofnothing is very rarely seen in-game therefore we cannot describe his personality due to lack of sightings.
Game
valley of the kings
The player spawns on a small island with a strange structure and a bridge connected to it, leading to a palace of sorts. Walking across the bridge to the palace will lead the player to a large interior with two different rooms to enter and a long corridor. Two of these rooms are closed off, with the corridor only being accessible every 20 seconds. In this corridor is a clickable object, which opens a room. If the player enters this room and walks up for the stairs, a longer corridor will be at the top of the palace. Touching the end of the corridor will turn the game to night.
If the player turns left at the entrance of the palace and travels along the outside of the palace where they'll find a pathway with a small flight of stairs leading to seemingly nothing. The wall at the top of the stairway should open every 20 seconds to allow the player in. It will lead to a short corridor with a small structure. Click the top of the small structure to open a gate inside of the palace.
Reentering the palace, the second room will be open if the player clicked the top of the structure. Going in there will lead the player to finding another one of the same objects. Click the top of this and you will spawn in "%", which is a model seen several times in therulerofnothing's inventory, which should be floating in the air and rotating.
At this point, it's likely that an invisible trigger has spawned in the doorway of the palace which makes a strange shadowy figure loom behind you. This trigger appears after 5 minutes. This trigger also makes the player slightly slower.
Group
concinnity()
concinnity() is the only group which therulerofnothing is in and the group which therulerofnothing owns. He is often active in the group, either updating the group game or letting in new members into the concinnity() group.
Theories
- He chooses to rule nothing as kings who rule are corrupted.
- His avatar suggests he is either a knight or a king who discarded his position and chose to be a knight.
- During the game, a strange black figure towers behind you and holds its hands towards you, as if controlling you.
- therulerofnothing is Ramesses II
- First off, the game's title is refering to the real world "Valley Of The Kings" in Egypt, where Ramses was originally buried there before being moved twice.
- Ruler refers to himself as the "King of Kings" that's also what Ramses refers to himself in the sonnet "Ozymandias".
- There are numerous instances of the eye of Horus/Ra appearing in concinnity():
- As one of the NPCs in developingRPG's game.
- In the previous collage of eyes group icon.
- In garkeil's game.
- One of the previous group icons being just the eye itself.
- In the group game.
- Concinnity()'s group game has numerous references to Egypt history & culture:
- Ruler's number of the kings is 755.75 481.4, that is the length & height of The Great Pyramid.
- In Ruler's kingdom (concinnity place 3) there are hieroglyphs everywhere, both on our player's avatar & cubes, these hieroglyphs are:
- Two feathers.
- Eye of Ra/Horus (again).
- Aquarius/ripple of water.
- Bird (chick, vulture, etc).
- Both of these relate to a city or kingdom.
- It is possible that in the game desc, we have to find Ramses' tomb in the Valley Of The Kings (possibly last stage) to win, but since it's not added yet this is just speculation.
- This theory has since been confirmed officially.
