upthestairsIgo is a small myth who is known for their game "Stairs". He was first discovered in 2021 and was hunted several times in 2022, eventually joining the group Paradox of Myths, and later on leaving the group in 2024.

Biography

Due to the abstract nature of upthestairsIgo's game, his lore is very hard to figure out. Although on March 12th, 2024, three decals have been uploaded to the upthestairsIgo account, showing what is likely to be upthestairIgo's family. The first image showing him and his partner, the second image showing him, his partner and a son, and the last image showing only him, alone. This likely means that his lore is about the loss of his family, and his game potentially being a metaphor for this.

History

upthestairsIgo created his account on the 24th of October, 2021. On the same day they created their game "up the stairs I go". Only four days later, the game was shouted in Robloxian Myth Hunters by the user "Phosphyte"^[1]. After this, the game would continue to grow slowly in popularity, with the owner being inactive and the game seemingly going inactive for a long time. Eventually after being shouted a few times in groups such as Robloxian Myth Hunters, the RMH Twitter account would tweet out one of their "Myth of the Week" posts, featuring upthestairsIgo, on the 18th of June, 2022^[2].

After this, it is known that upthestairsIgo would join the group Paradox of Myths, getting ranked as an "Imminent Myth" in the group. He would also update his avatar sometime in 2023, although this would soon be reverted back to his original avatar, with a new fedora accessory. In 2024, upthestairsIgo would leave Paradox of Myths, update his game and upload three new decals, featuring upthestairsIgo and two unknown people, believed to be family members of his. Around this time he would also rename his game from "up the stairs I go" to simply "Stairs".

Appearance

Currently, upthestairsIgo has a fully black torso, with lighter legs and a white skintone head. He also wears the "Fedora" accessory and a t-shirt titled "Tux for the special occasions..". Prior to this upthestairsIgo used a similar avatar, except without the t-shirt, instead using the "Black Suit with Tie" accessory, the "Business Fedora" accessory and the "Smile" face.

Due to having no recorded interactions on Roblox, it is not known how they act or talk.

Game

Stairs

Stairs takes place in a vertical building, with stairs connecting each floor which the player must trigger. The game features a simpler voxel style, also utilizing decals for certain things and more complex builds for certain objects. The game also notably has a green-ish yellow lighting throughout, despite the outside of the building having a blue lighting.

When the player spawns in "Stairs", they find themselves in a large empty room, with a hole in the ceiling and a fire exit behind them. If the player clicks the door handle of the fire exit, a staircase will appear which allows the player to reach the next floor. The next floor looks nearly identical, with the one difference being a small rail along the staircase, with a small key atop it. Clicking the key will spawn the staircase to the next floor. Reaching the next floor, the player will reach yet another identical floor, this time featuring a pile of boxes in the middle of the room. Clicking on this pile will spawn in a bicycle next to the door on this floor, which will spawn the next staircase if touched. This floor features nothing notable in the main room, but the door on this floor is now open. This door leads into three smaller rooms, one featuring a pile of boxes with a small button on one of them, the other featuring a bed and the third having shelves with a small door handle on the top shelf. Clicking this door handle will spawn the next staircase, although the next floor has nothing on it yet.

Backtracking to the button on the pile of boxes, by clicking it and then returning to the first floor, a new opening will be in the ground. In this new room the player can find two shelves and a group of barrels next to the staircase up. By continuing through the door the player will find more barrels, a shelf, and a door laying on the ground, likely having been pushed down somehow. This leads to a larger room, featuring more barrels and shelves messily strewn across the room. In the top right corner of this room, is a hole in the wall covered by a shelf, which is able to be pushed by the player. This leads to a sewer system, with the path to the left leading to a dead end, and the one to the right leading to a narrow hallway with a ladder, which will kick the player with the message "I wouldn't go up there if I were you..." if you attempt to climb it.

If the player had previously went up to the top floor, a model of upthestairsIgo would appear in the first room, seemingly pushing against the fire exit. Touching this model will make the final staircase appear in the game, which leads to a door with the text "ROOF ACCESS" above it. Touching this door will kick the player with the message "Up I go.."
