Biography
They are hugely quadrupedal but will run or attack prey (which typically are humans) using its hind legs. They also have a long whip-like tail and massive claws used to tear apart its kills. They are also reportedly capable of swimming.
Each Survivalist appears to have their own theories as to the origin of the Creatures and their purpose on Earth. SBiologist believes they are an unknown creature or the result of genetic manipulation. SPreacher believes they are the biblical wrath of God or perhaps Judgement Day. SAstronomer believes they are aliens from another universe. Theories of the origins of the creatures vary and the remainder of the Survivalist's theories are unknown.
According to a multitude of the Survivalists and likely depicted in the form of carvings inside of the Caves at the Refuge, they had an origin first being reported in a city known as "Starvacan" in Rhode Island, to our knowledge this city is fictional.
After the Creatures had plunged much of the Americas into anarchy, they had traveled to the Old World via the Atlantic Ocean when SDollmaker had reportedly made her escape along with the other Survivalists in a desperate attempt to flee the apocalyptic life the creatures were to bring. Reportedly, she was attacked while resting in a Jeep in Libya, and the unknown driver proceeded to speed away which saved her life. The severe wound is believed to have infected her with an unknown pathogen that may be effecting her psyche.
Reportedly, select users have come face to face with the Creatures which have rarely resulted in anything good.
The Creatures seem to be extremely unfriendly, vicious, and willing to strike you down at any moment. It is believed if you are able to leave the refuge somehow, you can make it outside and travel the dunes. If successful, perhaps creatures are lurking.
Appearance
Currently, it is unknown what these creatures look like to the general public. However, we have a rough thought of what they look like, because as mentioned by SAstronomer and SMortician, they are similar to gargoyles. There are also depictions of the creatures within the Refuge, in the form of drawings and graffiti in often hidden locations.
They are described as being black or extremely dark brown in appearance, and being about the size of the average man if not larger or slightly shorter in stature.
