former roblox myth, current roblox gangster— RUST_010

RUST_010 (referred to as RUST for short) is a retired myth and myth-inspired developer. He is best known for his affiliation with mrflimflam. He created his account in 2017 and became popular in 2018, when he began getting coverage from the Roblox YouTuber Flamingo. He was somewhat active until 2020, when he retired his myth and went inactive. In 2021, he would begin creating Roblox YouTube videos under the RUST name, which is what he mainly does now. As of September 5th, 2026 both his Roblox and Youtube accounts have been compromised by Hackers.

History

RUST_010 joined Roblox on the 28th of July 2017. Little is known about the earliest parts of their history, but it is known that their game "R U S T" on the 12th of November 2017. This game did appear to get some traction, reaching around 900 visits as of January 2018. In the same month, Flamingo would create his video "i'm not safe on roblox anymore...". In this video, Flamingo would play that game at the recommendation of a YouTube commenter, and would enjoy the experience.

Four days later, a second video by Flamingo would be uploaded, with this one being solely focused on RUST_010 and his games. This resulted in a series of 16 whole videos, focused on RUST and his games. Circa July 2018, he would take a slight hiatus from making these videos and would return in October of the same year.

In March 2019, Flamingo would create his last video on RUST_010. After this video, it appears that RUST went on a hiatus. Notably, in May 2020, RUST_010 retired his myth officially after assets of his were leaked and made accessible. After this, in February 2021, RUST_010 would upload his first ever YouTube video, titled "The Roblox Town Experience". This video was a very noticeable departure from his myth endeavours, being a comedic Roblox video in the game "be dead forever simulator". In the same month, the Rust Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit membership organization.

After this, RUST_010 would make more videos, all of them being entirely separate from his myth. This changed in July 2023, when he created his video "Explaining My RUST_010 Roblox Games", in which he discussed his games and showed a behind the scenes view of them. Eleven days later RUST uploaded a second video, explaining how he created all his games, and showing off how someone could make their own games like his. After these videos, he returned to creating regular content again.

As confirmed in the video, RUST originally had no planned story, and was made for fun. It is said that later on, RUST began developing a slight story, although there was never much of a cohesive idea.

On August 12, 2026, his Roblox account would be hacked. One month later on September 5th his Youtube account would be hacked.^[1]^[2]

Legacy

RUST_010 became the first myth/myth inspired game developer to have a series on the Flamingo YouTube channel, which makes him one of the key factors behind the creation of Flamingo's influential myth series.

Controversy and Drama

Mainly during the time of his activity, RUST_010 was seen as a controversial by some in the community. There were multiple reasons for this, such as his games falling more under the "horror game" genre as opposed to the myth genre, and the quality of his games being sub-par. He was also controversial due to him only becoming popular by association with Flamingo, who was also controversial during his early days in the community. As time has gone on, many have accepted him as a myth and remember him fondly, while others still don't like his myth.

Appearance

He is seen usually wearing a rusty t-shirt, with a salmon-colored torso, white arms and head, and light blue legs, in an R15 avatar look. His face appearance is always a smile. Beyond that, he has also worn many different accessories.

Personality and Traits

RUST_010's main goal was to stalk the Roblox YouTuber Flamingo (Also known as both Albert and mrflimflam). He has made eight games, which seemingly have an underlying story that becomes apparent in this Flamingo's video "ROBLOX... I MET RUST_010 " at 14 minutes and 20 seconds.

RUST_010 acts suspiciously, preferring to be around just Albert and is never found in any games that are not his own. When he chats, RUST_010 commonly uses the smiley face emoticon. Less commonly using "r u still there," which Albert found out in a video that the first letters of "r u still there" spelled out "r u s t," which is the name of his Roblox group.

RUST_010 has also shown symptoms of bipolar disorder. At times, he would show feigned professionalism and disinterest while talking, only to break out in fury and terror a few moments after.

Another notable thing is RUST_010 likes to use alternate accounts or, as Albert refers to them, "spies", the first and most notable of his being jimmybiscuit74. Whether RUST_010 actually uses alternate accounts or "spies" is yet to be confirmed.

Also, he talks about an unnamed "it", however, that is specifically rare. His profile says things such as "ERROR" or "SYSTEM FAILURE", making him almost like he's a vibe-coded AI who's written too much of his Rust code in unsafe blocks.

Trivia

RUST_010 alludes to the fact that he may have made a creature that has escaped, and also states that he can't talk about it as seen in this video.
RUST_010 has a YouTube channel where he gives previews and hints to his upcoming games.
RUST_TRUST, another Roblox myth, is often mistaken for RUST_010 himself; both are distinct individuals.
RUST is somewhat hated by the people in the Roblox's Myths Discord server.
RUST has featured a Nims-like creature in one of his games.
Albert fans mostly flock to his games to find out hidden secrets as most myth groups don't usually want to investigate his games, most likely from the controversy surrounding RUST_010.
In one of his videos about RUST_010, Albert did a Rust parody of the Spongebob opening.
- This move effectively solidifies Albert's position against the developers of the Rojo project, which was written in Rust. They instead would've made a parody in a type-unsafe language such as JavaScript.
Contrary to what Rustaceans would've hoped for, RUST_010 does not seem to have a special affinity to the Rust programming language and its controversial borrow checker, nor has he ever alluded to Ferris in any of his work.
- RUST_010 is not shown to be a recreational mathematician either. Not much is known about his use of alternate bases, especially with the numbers two (0b010) or sixteen (0x010).
