WHO IS IT 1x1x1x1 ? Dignity, Minish, Jared, The Admins? The World May Never know :o— Banner from the 2012 April Fools Incident
1x1x1x1 is a popular Roblox legend, fabled to be an infamous hacker. Originally, 1x1x1x1 was a character first mentioned in the description of the "Necrobloxicon" item. The account for 1x1x1x1 was created by Shedletsky, who is said to have also been the creator of the original character.[1] In 2008, rumors began spreading of 1x1x1x1 being a hacker, who would destroy Roblox. Through these rooms, real exploits were developed using the 1x1x1x1 name, and the rumors spread even farther. Eventually, the original 1x1x1x1 account was terminated, and then brought back under a new name. A new account was created in the wake of this, which was rumored to be a test account for years.
1x1x1x1 has generally been embraced as a part of the myth community, due to his long standing ties to other myths, and due to him often being described in a mystical way.
Biography
As bits & pieces from the website seem to allude to, 1x1x1x1 or "The Adversary" is a manifestation of pure hatred from the fourth dimension. They serve as the antagonistic counterpart of 2x2 in the origins of Roblox' creation, their hatred stemming from their dislike of the third-dimensional aspect of the platform, which they vow to destroy. They will later be imprisoned at the dawn of time by Two-By-Two, a manifestation of the Alpha Brick, the first ever brick placed on Robloxia that was then copied and pasted to make it as we know today. However, it is suspected that there are people attempting to bring them back, & their recent inclusion in events could be a sign of that.
The account would simultaneously be subject to accusations of being an exploiter when it would be included in an exploiting incident in 2009, firstly recorded by armitroner in his 1x1x1x1Hacking video. This incident would begin the popularization of 1x1x1x1 across forums, leading to a flood of posts regarding the incident.
History
At its root, 1x1x1x1 originates from the first Blog Post created by Shedletsky on the official Roblox blog, released on December 8th, 2006. At the top of this blog post, a section called "The Chronicles of Roblox, VI.203", serves as the first mention of the character "Two-by-Two". Around a year later, On October 19th, 2007, another blog post, this time by former Roblox administrator MrDoomBringer, was created. This post further elaborated on the lore introduced in the first blog post, discussing the origins of Roblox and the universe.
Five days after this, the "Necrobloxicon" hat was uploaded onto Roblox. With this, the following description was included:
...And there came into this world a great darkness. A being of pure hatred with the name of One-by-One-by-One-by-One, or, in later ages, simply The Adversary. 1x1x1x1 is entity from the fourth dimension who loathes Robloxia for it's 3D-ness and has vowed to destroy it. 1x1x1x1 was imprisoned by Two-by-Two at the dawn of time, yet there are those who seek to free him...
Following the creation of this hat, the 1x1x1x1 account was created the next day by Shedletsky.[2] This account seemed to have not be used much by Shedletsky, as the only notable activity stemming from the account was the addition of the "RSK" item to 1x1x1x1's avatar. This item is tied to the "Roblox Spirit Killers", a group tied to the Roblox legend Spirit. After this, in December 2007, former Roblox moderator Aeacus created an exploit script tied to 1x1x1x1. The only video recordings of this script originate from videos uploaded during late 2007 to early 2008.[3][4][5] Later on in November 2008, an account named "1x1x1x1x1x1" was created.[6] For the next two days, this account would spam the Roblox forums, making forum posts talking about how 1x1x1x1 would soon return and destroy the Roblox platform. The account would quickly be terminated, although several copycat accounts would appear in it's wake, acting in a similar fashion.
A month later, the user weaselman50 would create another exploit script, similar to the one created by Aeacus. This script was inserted into games using the program "Fiddler", and would begin with a countdown appearing on screen, with the text "Security Breach in ... Seconds [Advertise Here]." When the countdown reached zero, the script would then play a loop of the first minute of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up", as all of the game's parts starts flashing rapid colors. Each part would also have messages appear over them. The place's parts would all slowly fly into the center of the map, until the game's map becomes an untraversable void. However, in the later version of the script, all players in the server would be sent to a white void at the end of countdown, making the game unplayable. This script was first seen in a video by armitroner, titled "1x1x1x1Hacking".[7]
Starting on January 16th, 2009, several games would be targeted with this script, with the culprits supposedly being weaselman50, Aeacus, nate2800 and justgoaway1.[8][9][10] On January 18th, a shared account titled "TheSpammarz" was created, who uploaded several models.[11][12] These models included scripts which would cause several different 1x1x1x1 related scripts to play, which would destroy games in many different ways. It is said that over one thousand models contained these scripts, and at least 7500 games were contained these models.[13] In February 2009, the 1x1x1x1 account was terminated, possibly due to all the rumors of hacking tied to the account, although it would later be unbanned in March 2009.[14][15]
Unexpectedly, on May 25th, 2010, the 1x1x1x1 account would be password-guessed and it would come online.[16][17] Within the next hour, the account's username would be changed to "request59245234857238947", supposedly due to a hacker requesting the name change via Roblox Support.[citation needed]After this, the account would briefly join a game, but would seemingly go inactive after this.[18][19][20] After the name reset, it is alleged that user "makkapakka9" would take the 1x1x1x1 username, creating the second "1x1x1x1" account.[21][22] This account would very briefly be online, joining at least one game, and joining the group "EL1T3", but they would soon be terminated.[23][24][25][26] This is due to the password of the account leaking, making it possible for several users to log onto the account all at once.[27][28]
Following all of this, 1x1x1x1 would continue to be an account with many rumors tied to it, especially related to hacking. In an attempt to change this reputation, MrDoomBringer would create a forum post debunking the 1x1x1x1 legend:
I posted this in a thread that subsequently died. I'm posting it here so you can refer back to it later. Keep the link to this forum. Distribute it. Tell people the truth. Because the truth is actually quite boring. Lets talk about where the name comes from. Long ago, Telamon posted a number of stories about Roblox's backstory to the News. One of these included mentions of 2x2, the first brick. Copied over and over, every other brick were it's descendents. Then, in a footnote, he mentions the evil 1x1x1x1. So that's where the name comes from. Blame John. Lets talk about why people say he's a hacker. A guy who's name is long forgotten (not Zuka) found an exploit (not CheatEngine) to insert control scripts into online places. He sent me a message, telling me he had something to demonstrate. I joined him in Crossroads, and it started raining heads saying things along the lines of "He's coming back!" and "1x1x1x1 is coming for you!" and the likes. People in the server freaked out, I found it hilarious, he gave me instructions on how it works and I reported it to the devs. End of story. Other people, like Dignity, would find other way to insert scripts, and people would assume that they have something to do with "the hacker group" 1x1x1x1. Truth is, it was one guy playing off of a Roblox Lore thing. Get over it. It's that boring.Despite this attempt to quell the rumors, 1x1x1x1 continued to be known by most as one of Roblox's most infamous hackers, even being mentioned about by Roblox themselves on a few occasions.[29][30][31] This even included a real-life toy, released as a part of the second series of Roblox toys in 2017.[32] In 2017, 1x1x1x1 would also frequently be brought up due to the March 18th hoax, and the fact that users like TheC0mmunity were friended to him.[33] In 2020, 1x1x1x1 would make a more prominent appearance in the Ready Player Two event, appearing as Easter eggs in the event's lobby, and having three different official items tied to him.[34][35][36][37]
In March 2024, 1x1x1x1 was featured as a final boss fight in The Classic event.[38] Here, he was seen using the "Daemonshank" item, a variant of the Venomshank made specifically for him. In December, 1x1x1x1 was added as a killer to the game "Forsaken", making the character's popularity peak again on the Roblox platform.[39] Later on, 1x1x1x1 would once again appear as a boss in The Games event. Here, the player would be rewarded with the "Glitch Hacker Laurel" for beating him.
Appearance
Over time, there have been many appearances tied to the 1x1x1x1 character. His original avatar on roblox_user_81619 had legs colored "Dark green", arms colored "Bright green", a torso colored "Industrial white", and a head colored "Really black". Along with this, the original avatar also used the "RSK" t-shirt. This avatar is near identical to the avatar used by the "spirit" account, who was one of the first Roblox legends. The only difference as that the arms of the original were colored "Medium green". Later on, after the account was terminated, the account's avatar was changed to having a "Bright red" torso, "Medium blue" legs and "Cool yellow" arms and head.
Initially, the second 1x1x1x1 account had "Medium blue" legs, an "Earth green" torso, and "Medium stone gray" arms and head. He also used the "Roundy" head, which would go on to become a staple of "hacker" accounts during the mid-2010s. Over time, the body colors of this avatar would change twice, due to website glitches.
Apart from these two accounts, there has also been a third, more prominent appearance for 1x1x1x1. This avatar was originally created by "Mewsitive", and featured a fully "Really black" body, apart from the torso, which was a transparent green color. Within this torso was a black version of the "Skeleton Torso".[40] Apart from this, this appearance also featured a green Domino crown, which was not an actual Roblox accessory, and an angry face with a zipper mouth. This avatar would be used to represent 1x1x1x1 during his appearance in the official Roblox toy line and for Roblox events such as The Classic.[32]
There has also been an alternative design created by Roblox that was going to be used for the 8th Annual Bloxy Awards but it "had to be cut".[41]

Personality and Traits
In the original description for the "Necrobloxicon", 1x1x1x1 is described as a fourth dimensional being of "pure hatred", who loathes Robloxia for being in the third dimension.
In game, the personality of 1x1x1x1 is unknown, as both times the accounts were seen online, any information regarding their behavior hasn't been documented. 1x1x1x1 is also widely known as a benevolent hacker, who wants to destroy Roblox via exploits. The reasoning for this destruction tends to remain unsaid, although it's likely due to the aforementioned hatred for 3D-ness.
