i yabaaa dabaaa dee— Mrflimflam
mrflimflam (also known as Flamingo, AlbertsStuff or simply Albert) is an American YouTuber and myth hunter that gained fame from creating Roblox content on YouTube. His primary YouTube channel, Flamingo, has over 13 million subscribers, and is one of the most popular Roblox channels on YouTube.
As well as various other Roblox content, Albert is well known for his video series in which he investigates the myth hunting genre on Roblox. His videos on the myth community is one of the main reasons to this day the myth community has gained as much recognition on Roblox as it does. While Flamingo at the moment no longer makes any myth content, Albert has played a key role in the history of the myth community and his impact on the community has had a lasting effect to this day.
History
mrflimflam first joined Roblox in March 2008, on his accounts "Crimson0" and "Streety". These accounts would be used by him for a long time, with him mainly focusing on the Roblox Skating genre. In 2011, he would create one of his first YouTube channels, titled "ROBLOXSkateMagazine", which featured him and his friends playing games, most of them being related to skating games.
Later on, he'd move accounts to the "Alberts" account, and would create his channel "Albertsstuff" in 2012, which would be the beginning of his current YouTube career. He began creating content on this channel in 2014, with it mainly consisting of content about the Roblox game "Apocalypse Rising". After this, he would start creating Roblox Trolling videos, which caused his first peak in popularity. Eventually, in 2017, he would abandon his Albertsstuff channel, due to many of his videos becoming demonetized and therefor not being profitable for him. The reasoning for his demonetization was due to the more vulgar nature of his content at the time.
After this, he would move on to his next channel, named "Flamingo". This channel would continue to do Roblox variety content in a similar vein to his previous channel, but now with a more family friendly nature. After moving channels he would also begin using the account "mrflimflam", which would become his main account for the foreseeable future. In December 2017, mrflimflam would upload a video to his "Flamingo" channel, titled "ENTERING THE DARK SIDE OF ROBLOX". This was his first video to ever feature myths, including 45229, Jewk, Vault 8166 and G0Z.
After this, in January 2018, he would begin a series where he played various games made by the MUGEN group. One of these videos would feature DrMach, as he had a relation to the MUGEN group at that time. He would also play CAROLlNE during this time, and would notably play RUST_010 for the first time. He would go on to make several videos about RUST_010, leading to RUST becoming quite popular within his community and the myth community as well. In the coming months he would make more and more myth videos, including ones featuring G0Z, Somatikos and various other popular myths during 2018.
In June 2018, he would make his first video featuring the Shadelight myths titled "ROBLOX... AN INVESTIGATION.". He would also make his first video featuring AloneTraveler during this time, starting his rise to fame, among other videos with ZoruTao, The Cole Family and The Cult Family. During the next year he would make more videos featuring many myths he helped popularize, such as Saint Abida Tribe, ZalcusOfBlack, StopLookingBack, The Days Union and many other myths.
In 2020 he would notably cover myths like The Smiles Family and Grocery Gang, but would start hunting less and less during the year. This can be linked to a few things, including the exposure of Kazdam during this time, as well as him gaining a lot of hate from many in the myth community. This mainly came from older members who believed he had made the community worse due to him causing an influx of younger members to join, who were seen as immature and attention seeking. His last video before his hiatus from myths would be the finale of The Smiles Family saga.
Unexpectedly, in February 2023, Flamingo would upload a video titled "Why I stopped Roblox Myth videos...". In this video, Flamingo would address his absence from the community, stating that the Kazdam controversy was the contributing factor to him stopping his myth videos. He would also state in this video that he is not opposed to making more videos on myths and that he is still interested in the community. Later on in the same year, he would make another video about The Smiles Family and their game Night Watch. This would be it for his myth content until November 2024, when he created his video "Roblox Myths are BACK". This video would feature him playing the The Double R Bar as well as "The Homestead" by Cult Family Rebirth. At the time of writing this, this is his most recent myth video and it is unknown if there is more to come.
Controversy/Drama
Albert has also been criticized for ignoring the victims of Kazdam's requests to take down his videos on now controversial myths such as Chuck_Lloyd and AloneTraveler, who are known throughout the community to be owned by pedophiles. He has also been criticized for presenting misleading information regarding the Kazdam drama in a video, and still being friended to Chuck_Lloyd even after Kazdam was exposed. It has been alleged by baddieblood and Taphies in a twitter post that he still has contact to Universities. They claimed along with a long list of other things that they confronted Albert and even after the confrontation he still hasn't taken down any videos regarding the now controversial myths, even after reading threads with Temprist, as the videos continue to platform them.
He has also been criticized for being used by particularly larger myth group owners to promote their myths such as G0Z and the Shadelight myths, among others. A previous helper to Albert, and now a known predator Universities, admitted to sending him myths for him to use in his videos. He is also criticized by some (primarily older members of the community) for causing the influx of younger players to join the community during 2018, in turn causing myths and myth-related places to be raided by his fans. Albert is often criticized for his immature behaviour in serious situations.
Appearance
Mrflimflam occasionally changes his avatar, however what is considered to be his main avatar which he has stuck to for over two years, is a character named 'Cleetus'. Cleetus consists of peach-toned skin, the 'Penguin Torso', the 'Cleetus Overalls' suit, the funny 'Goofball' eyes, and the 'Laid-Back Cowboy' hat. The outfit is well-known by almost everybody in the ROBLOX community and a notable amount of people copy it. It is also the avatar he primarily uses when myth hunting.
Personality and Traits
Albert is well known for having troll-like behaviour or acting childish and rarely ever acts mature in myth situations, often doing goofy voices. He also often makes alternate accounts so he is not stalked or harassed in-game, but usually has to keep making alternate accounts due to Albert exposing his own account by using them in his videos, such as ihatemyson which he used to investigate RUST_010 before switching to his main, Mrflimflam. Albert will usually get scared and scream a lot when someone or something appeared in front of him in most of his videos, including myths and troll videos.
While recording meetings with myths on camera, Albert investigates myths with somewhat respect. Because of his large following and his status as a popular YouTuber, he tries to avoid crowds and annoyances. Due to this, he usually goes into private servers or meets up with the myths he interacts with with the server locked.
Albert has opened up to his fans on twitter that he had depression before.
