While many describe "spirit" and the RSK as the first version of myths and myth hunters, they much more resemble clans, which were a very popular subsection of the Roblox community in the early days of the community.

Biography

Due to the age of the myth and the lack of documentation of events, it's hard to determine what Spirit was actually about, but through archives there are good indicators from those connected to the history to piece some stuff together.

They seemingly work alongside their "Lord You-Know-Who", inferred by KirbyDude as the account 'RobloxianSpirit' a spiritual, chaotic and vengeful Lord self-described to be more "old testament", with spirit being inferred as co-leader of the Spirits, ready to serve RobloxianSpirit, most notably being called upon to "protect the dead" by RobloxianSpirit^[5]. Spirits are known to have obtained their signature 'R' symbol, seemingly an intentional process to become one of them.

History

spirit joined Roblox on the 27th of May, 2007. They were created by famous Roblox player 'Miked', as stated in the description of robloxianimmortal's game "Chamber", as well as in the game itself. Prior to the creation of spirit, rumors of spirit accounts began with a user named 'RobloxianKid'.^[6] After this, the term "spirit" would begin being used for a growing number of accounts, who were similar to 'RobloxianKid'. This soon included the actual spirit account, who became the "co-leader" of these accounts^[7]. Likely created in reaction to the growing attention of other spirit accounts, notably with eyes on the creation of the 'Roblox Spirit Killers' the prior day.^[8]

These users would began to cultivate, creating groups for both sides, acting as clans.^[9][10] At some point, spirit and robloxianimmortal would create their games "Torture Chamber", with only robloxianimmortal's game being public. This game would add several wipeouts to a user's wipeout total, and led to some RSK members to stop hunting spirits, due to not wanting more wipeouts and being afraid of spirit. There was also frequent criticism in RSK, as users had to be accepted to the group and could be kicked.

These groups would continue to be active throughout 2007, although they would begin to disappear further into June, being declared over on June 20th, 2007^[11]. A few attempts would appear, trying to revive the RSK and the Spirit movement, most notably by robloxme371 throughout November 2007 to 2012, although they wouldn't tend to get anywhere near the original's reach nor impact.

Appearance

spirit's avatar consisted of a white torso, light green arms, green legs and a black head, as well as a t-shirt titled "StudioIcon", with the R from the Roblox logo on it. A few spirit accounts would copy this avatar exactly, although most of them would deviate from it, while still keeping it recognizable.

Personality and Traits

There are very few recorded instances of the "spirit" account specifically interacting with others outside of a few quotes, and therefore it's hard to determine how they acted. It's possible that they acted similar to the other spirit accounts, who tended to be quiet, apart from infrequent "creepy" statements or "rawrs" they'd make^[12].

However, robloxianimmortal is known to have directly spared a user named 'Waffleboy1', telling him about obtaining their 'R' symbol in-game and implied that Spirits can be persuaded within a forum thread.^[13][14]

Relationships

robloxianimmortal

robloxianimmortal is one of spirit's first friends, and is known to have been created by the same person who created spirit, miked. This account wore a similar avatar to spirit, apart from an additional hat, the "Classic ROBLOX Viking Helm", potentially intended to be the same character as spirit. They also hosted what was likely the finished version of spirit's game "Torture Chamber". Little is directly known about their activity nowadays, due to them only having posted three forum posts, none of which were too directly related to the spirit myth. However it is potentially possible to infer that robloxianimmortal and spirit were intended to essentially be the same character with miked focusing his activity on robloxianimmortal while holding spirit with a facade of robloxianimmortal's "Torture Chamber" to sell the illusion.

miked

miked is a former Roblox game developer, known for their games "Ultimate Paintball" and "Minigame World". He is known for his large presence in the early Roblox community, and is relevant due to him being the creator of spirit. This was confirmed in the description of robloxianimmortal's "Torture Chamber" description, as well as in the game itself through a backwards hidden message, potentially implicating miked as spirit and robloxianimmortal's true identity in-character.

Roblox Spirit Killers

After a successful search in Crossroads, the original RSK was formed.^[15] Led by NintendoBoy with help from his sister Chels / Chels91^[16], I8U2 and KirbyDude / KirbSuperStarDude^[17], it is believed to have been joined by (Chino / Chino2, wfmp, blacksage, yosh322, Kirigi (formerly Bspurrell), lego_king, Pikachu22, Leafia, Superbrick, Way245, ScatmanDavid (formerly ScatmanMario), Ganon101 / RSK101/ IhateNBB, Sora867, danielmcb, Pikachu123, Nintendowii4, jacbob, haloguy, shadowmario111159, PokerGod (formerly Poker_Man29), link0940 and questionably zeraki).

In opposition to this the RSP (Roblox Spirit Protectors) would form guided by a vengeful RobloxianSpirit in aims to eradicate the RSK for their attempts to eradicate the spirits while maintaining public image, working under the guise of spirit protection, truly only fighting under the belief the RSK wanted to eradicate Spirits. It'd be joined by: (voldemort, hoping, LegoPepper, Knight112 and RSKKiller).

There had been a lot of people wanting to be members of the RSK, however in order to join you'd have to be friends with the leader and wear the group shirt. This would lead to another separate group's creation the "Roblox Spirit Killers Killers" by RSKKiller (also known as Neutron_Flow, formerly Kirby12)^[18] with a stated mission to protect spirits from the RSK.^[19]

It'd also lead to others such as Arinth or ToaZuku making their own unofficial shirts^[20], eventually culminating after the RSK concluded with the likes of Dps610, 007COOL, robloxme371 and more leading their own revival groups off-and-on which would remain in relative inactivity after a conflict^[5] hosted by RobloxianSpirit, until around 2009 where it was first declared over.^[21]

As is obvious from the name, they're the opposing force for Spirits and cause for their notoriety, most notably spirit who made "Chamber" as a way to scare off the original RSK.^[22] The spirits would also wind up sabotaging the "RSK Meeting Grounds" from Chels' 'RSK' account^[23] by changing the level to a different one.

Other Spirits

Despite not being the first, spirit defined a lot of what a "spirit" account was. Contextualizing the signature 'R' symbol as something obtained, and yet- not every Spirit was a follower of spirit's message, most notably 'RobloxianGirl' who (despite displaying aggressive tendencies at times^[24]) befriended KirbyDude and stated she was a "Good Spirit" standing against those Spirits^[25][26][27], though there was very much a large contingent of Spirits that followed spirit's leadership, echoing spirit's known quote and sentiments.^[28][29]

Even though the concept for Spirits would expand, introducing types of Spirits such as 'WaterSpirit' who would start a trend of "Element Spirits" like 'AirSpirit' or 'FireSpirit' and dub the accounts 'Rah' and 'RandomMan2' as "Reaper Spirit" and a "Half-Spirit" respectively^[29]. A vague idea of what spirit laid out would generally remain with the account's waning activity, though after the removal of Best Friends the account would still be spotted randomly friending spirit accounts such as (ashkiller95, ANormalUsernameRS, DarknessSpirit and ChaosSpirit).

Despite seemingly trying to appease RobloxianSpirit it seems spirit's actions may have often conflicted against what RobloxianSpirit truly wanted at times, as spirit's goals of murdering Robloxians and destroying Robloxia does not seem to be echoed by RobloxianSpirit who wishes for peace and safety for his subjects^[5], and vengeance against those who hurt those he guards though while RobloxianSpirit is conscious that a vengeful Lord such as himself may pose a threat and put his subjects in danger of eradication, however despite this all they were still connected in some regard.

Games

"[ Content Deleted ]", formerly known as Torture Chamber, was spirit's only game. The game was notably a "Friends-only" game, meaning that spirit's friends are the only ones who know what was in the game, prior to it's deletion. Despite this fact, the contents of the game are known, a blank white part with a decal; likely a facade meant to look like the more complete version of "Torture Chamber" that can be found on robloxianimmortal's profile.^[30]

robloxianimmortal's Torture Chamber consisted of a large black box, with various "creepy" decals found on each side of the box. The box would occasionally flash, and various messages would appear on the screen. The game would also add several "wipeouts" to the users' profile^[31], which at the time was an important metric for players who were in the sword-fighting community. This script would only occasionally work, as the script required the owner of the game to be in it, although this requirement would often be bypassed.

• spirit's avatar is very similar to the original avatar of 1x1x1x1, leading many users to believe 1x1x1x1 was inspired by spirit
  • This is further supported by the fact that 1x1x1x1's t-shirt was titled "RSK", referencing the Roblox Spirit Killers group.

• One of the only remaining spirit videos on YouTube is "rsk the rising storm", an apparent RSK propaganda video for robloxme371's RSK revival.
• spirit has three friends on Roblox, those being the users "robloxianimmortal", "robloxiankid10" and "RobloxianBoy".
  • The "robloxiankid10" account may be a reference to the original "RobloxianKid" account.
• Prior to their termination, the spirit account had the "Combat Initiate" badge.
• The story that was believed formerly were that Spirits were malicious ghosts, however that currently doesn't appear to have been the case.^[5]
• Within a revival of the war a common trope within forum posts were "Spirit Meteors"^[32]
• On February 21st, 2009 Dignity uploaded a T-Shirt labeled "Anti_RSK", despite this there is no currently known evidence to prove it was a real group.
