Thedaytheydisapeared is a Roblox myth that is primarily known for its game called "Disappearance." Because of the account InterestingMyths following it and the early attention from myth hunters, this myth has garnered over 14,000 place visits as of 2024. The inactivity and the obscurity of the myth have caused a significant decrease in popularity in the 2020s, although their game occasionally gets investigated by newer myth hunters.

Biography

The story of Thedaytheydisapeared revolves around a small floating town after the disappearance of a "person". Because of the lack of information and activity within the myth, everything else about their story would likely fall under "Theories".

History

Thedaytheydisapeared created their Roblox account on November 3rd, 2018. On the same day, they would create their game titled "Disapearance." This game would last be updated on November 24th, 2018. Within the next year, the myth would receive little attention from myth investigators, or anybody at all. In 2019, however, the myth account would be followed by the popular myth-following account known as InterestingMyths^{[1] [2]} Because of this, the myth would start to be investigated by groups such as Robloxian Myth Hunters^[3] and a few smaller groups. Eventually, Thedaytheydisapeared's popularity would die down by the end of 2019 as more active and less obscure myths started to appear. The last time Thedaytheydisapeared would come online was on April 21st, 2022.

Appearance

Thedaytheydisapeared's avatar consists of a black Trim head, grey arms, a yellow torso with the equipped ___ t-shirt, and a grey right leg and a black right leg. This dark avatar could represent the death of the missing person if that is the case, or it could just represent the dark colors that primarily make up the town featured in Disappearance. Personality and Traits

Thedaytheydisapeared has not been seen in game before, and will likely never. Because of this, their personality and character traits are currently unknown.

Game

Disappearance.

This game features a town on a floating island with the primary colors mainly being on the dark side of the color spectrum. Despite this, the game features a few things that do stand out from the gloomy environment.

The player first spawns right next to a house's front door. Above the house, the player can notice a floating purple cube ^[4] that doesn't seem to fit in with the darkness and fog of the town. Going behind that very same house lies text and a tallied number written in chalk, where it reads "33 DAYS". ^[5] On the ground, there seems to be a fallen letter, which would actually make it 34 days.

If the player checks out the few neighboring homes, they will notice that the house closest to spawn is the only one that has glowing lights. ^[6] Straight ahead from spawn, the player can find more houses that are nearly identical to one another, with all but two having no lights on.

Going behind a few of the houses, the player can see a large tree with another levitating purple cube and four long surrounding rectangles which also move at the same speed as the cube. Nearby, the player can find a dock, with another levitating purple cube straight ahead, albeit a bit smaller. ^[7] If the player jumps off the dock, they will find a levitating and spinning white object before going back to spawn.

  • The use of the word "disappeared" could signify their absence in the world.
  • The environment is foggy and the primary colors are mainly dark, which symbolizes themes such as death.
    • Along with the game environment, the avatar of Thedaytheydisapeared consisted of the colors black and grey, even after being automatically reset by Roblox in the 2020s.

• The t-shirt equipped by Thedaytheydisapeared was uploaded by him in 2019.

• Thedaytheydisappeared once had a normal roblox head before it was changed to a Trim head. ^[8]

• Sometime in the 2020s, Thedaytheydisapeared's torso would become yellow because of an automatic Roblox avatar update.

• Despite being followed by InterestingMyths and having a similar username structure, this myth has never had an affiliation with StopLookingBack and associated accounts.
