Terminology
Basic Vocabulary
Myth — A myth can be defined as a story told on Roblox, typically through games and character interaction. The term myth is also used to refer to an account, used to tell the stories. In the past, myths have widely been regarded as horror accounts, although myth stories have since broadened to be much less horror-themed. For examples of myths, check this page, and for more information regarding them, check this page.
Legend — A legend is a Roblox urban legend, similar to creepypastas. Legends tend to linked to a specific user or an entity, who often have the ability to manipulate Roblox and the users on it. Sometimes, these Legends are tied real users, although the stories surrounding the users are not created by themselves, instead by others on Roblox. Legends have largely been replaced by Myths past the early 2010s. For examples of Legends, check this page.
Exploiter — An exploiter is a user who is said to use exploits. Many Legends are entirely based around a user being able to exploit, and therefore there is much overlap between these categories. There were also an influx of exploiter myths during 2017 and 2018, due to the March 18th hoax based around John and Jane Doe. For examples of Exploiters, check this page.
Myth Hunter — A myth hunter is a user who investigates myths in an attempt to figure out their story. For examples of myth hunters, check this page.
Myth Hunting — The practice of investigating a myth user in order to find out more information regarding a myth. This is typically done through playing the myth's game, although this can also be done by searching through their profile, interacting with the myth, and investigating other potential sources of information.
Myth Community — The Myth Community, sometimes called the Myth Genre or M Genre, is the community based around myths and hunting them. The community is made up of several myths and hunters, as well as groups created by these people. Myth Hunting Groups are common and make up most of what is considered to be the community.

Myth Vocabulary
Wannabes/Wannabe Myths — A controversial term often used as an insult towards newer, less refined myths. Wannabe myths are characterized as low-quality myths which attempt to gain popularity by taking elements from other myths, making low-effort games, and by self-advertising. Wannabe myths often tap into the "horror" elements of the myth genre, by attempting to be scary and using threats of hacking in order to gain popularity. This term was largely popular between 2017-2019, and has since fallen from common usage.
Retired Myth — Myths that have stopped being myths by choice. It is common that retired myths continue to use their myth accounts, although they usually drop their myth persona when doing so. For examples of these, see this page.
