History

The Myth Community Wiki was founded on March 11th, 2018, and was originally regarded as the Robloxian Myth Hunters Wiki; a wiki based on the hunters and myths in Robloxian Myth Hunters.[1] The historic hunter, smart_truffles, was the one to create the site on Fandom, and immediately began sharing it among the RMH Discord server.[1] Quickly, it began picking up attention from some of the hunters in the server, such as the now-retired RMH high rank, Monocoled, who became the co-head of the wiki at this point.[1] During this time, the Fandom Wiki was red and white, and content was limited to a few paragraphs per page.[2]

Although the wiki slightly expanded as the year continued, it also became quite inactive due to smart_truffles temporarily leaving RMH and the wiki.[3] A user named, DJ10wiki, supposedly took over control after truffles' absence.[4] Much of their leadership is unknown, but they were noted to have made lots of contributions before going inactive.[4] The general inactivity of the wiki is assumed to have continued into 2019, despite smart_truffles seemingly returning to the wiki in mid-2019.[3] With the inactivity, the RMH Wiki became mismanaged to a point where much of RMH rejected the Wiki.[5] However, this distaste for the state of the RMH Wiki caused a notorious RMH Council member, afcdeg1, to push for a reform in the entire RMH Wiki structure.[6] Fortunately, this resulted in the creation of a new Discord server in January 2020,[7] along with other improvements to the wiki.

Following this initiative, the RMH Wiki began growing again in reputation and contributors, with individuals like berthul and kingcorky becoming Content Moderators, as well as alawkwa discovering the wiki during this time. There was nothing notable that appears to have occurred with the RMH Wiki until August 2020, when Kazdam was exposed. Since the landscape of the myth community wiki space was between the Robloxian Myth Hunters Wiki and the Roblox's Myths Wiki,[8] and RM was in complete disarray, the staff of the RMH Wiki decided to rebrand into the Myth Community Wiki. The purpose of this was to have the wiki represent and cover the entire wiki, rather than a sole group, which was in great need so the community would not have to support RM's Wiki. This was announced on August 18th, and finalized a month later on the 18th of September, 2020.[9]

In December 2020, the official Myth Community Wiki Roblox Group was created, and user Mr_OOFAlot would discover the Myth Community wiki, and begin contributing to it.[10][11]

In 2025, we decided to move to Miraheze for better organization.

Symbolizing that both alawk and Mr_OOFAlot own the Myth Community Wiki.

RankDescriptionRating
Wiki ReaderThis is the first rank of the group that is earned upon joining. A variety of hunters, myths just beginning, developers, and artists can be found here.Low Rank
Dedicated ContributorThe next rank for hunters to earn is Dedicated Contributor; a rank for users who are noticed by the MCW for editing the wiki often while without any rank like Content Moderator or above. This may also hold previous Content Moderators.
Content ModeratorContent Moderators are those seeking for a more formal involvement in the maintenance of the MCW, obtained through an application and approval of Administrators and Bureaucrats.[12] They may simply make occasional sizeable edits and deal with vandalism, or can help bring great improvement to the wiki. Ideally, Content Moderators are then promoted to Wiki Administrator if approved by the Wiki Administrators and Bureaucrats.Middle Rank
Wiki AdministratorWiki Administrators are experienced contributors to the wiki and likely already renowned around the myth community for their hunting. They have a role in all matters concerning the MCW and are considered to be high ranks of the group.High Rank
Wiki BureaucratWiki Bureaucrats are not much different from Wiki Administrators in terms of responsibilities, but they typically have much greater experience with the Wiki. Those who have earned this rank tend to have been involved with the MCW for years. Ideally, Wiki Administrators are promoted to Bureaucrat as deserved.
Wiki OwnerThis rank simply holds the owner of the MCW. Although a role like this usually stays with one person, the MCW can comfortably pass it onto deserving Wiki Bureaucrats when needed.Owner

Myth Ranks

RankDescriptionRating
Upcoming MythThese are myths who have gained a short span of recognition among the community, yet remain under 3.5k visits. Usually, they have recently been discovered and are still being investigated by hunters. Myths under this rank must also have noticeably good quality to them in all aspects. All myths ranked are handpicked by Mr_OOFAlot, or occasionally another wiki staff member.Low Rank
Small MythThis rank holds myths who have surpassed the initial point of recognition by the staff of the MCW. Small Myths and above are intended to have a page about them on the wiki, but often does not happen due to a lack of editors. Myths with place visits of 3.5k to 6k are typically ranked here.
Recognized MythPreviously just named, "Myth", Recognized Myth is a rank which holds myths who are settled in the community. They are names known by active, seasonal hunters and groups, and have been investigated numerous times. Recognized Myths are the second to last myth rank and can be considered the standard for most myths documented on the wiki. Their recognition has a large range of 6k to 30k place visits.Middle Rank
Popular MythThis is the highest myth role in the MCW, meant to hold those who have over 30k place visits. Although this threshold is quite high, there is still a sizable catalogue of myths beyond this point. Popular Myths are most likely well known by MCW staff members, and are a common name in the myth community.High Rank

Myth Community Wiki Charts

MCW Charts is a defunct division that represented a project off the wiki, completely ran by a retired bureaucrat known as BingBangRoadblocks58. The purpose of this sub-group was to specialize in providing data and statistics on myths via a chart named, The Myth Hot 100. This chart was meant to be a weekly ranking of the popularity of myths using followers, place visits, and group members for its rankings. The division was formed on October 30th, 2022, and the chart postings began on December 3rd, 2022. The charts and other information were held on a separate site from the MCW.[13]

Robloxian Myth Hunters

This was the myth hunting group that the Myth Community Wiki derived from when it was once the Robloxian Myth Hunters Wiki.[1] Founded by smart_truffles here on March 11th, 2018, the wiki aimed to document the many myths and hunters notorious among the RMH group. Although the community initially received the project well, it gradually became disliked for its inactivity and inaccuracy.[5] Eventually, the wiki evolved into the Myth Community Wiki by disbanding from RMH in August 2020, with RMH remaining as a close ally.

Badge Hunt Index

The "Badge Hunt Index" is an in-game catalogue of badges found across myth games, which organizes them based on a variety of factors like difficulty and availability. Thus, it allows players to check what badges they've obtained from myths while being introduced to other myths. Additionally, the index contains a leaderboard of every player's placement, and a list of those who obtained rare badges. The Badge Hunt Index was created by MoralArsonism, a notorious developer within the myth community, whilst collaborating with Mr_OOFAlot and kingcorky. Although currently broken, hundreds of badges have been collected for hunters to seek.

The predecessor of this project was a document put together mainly by kingcorky and Mr_OOFAlot,[14] two Bureaucrats of the MCW, which catalogued many myth badges alike the current game. This project was created under the MCW during a brief period of the myth community, where many hunters became infatuated with collecting badges. Eventually, the editors' interest in the project fell and the document unofficially ended. This was until January 2025, when MoralArsonism put together their game version of the Badge Hunt Index, inspired by the previous project. Of course, this revived the interest in the project and the game became official within the same month.

Eminence Theatre

Developed in December 2022, the "Eminence Theatre" was created by TheExistingDragon to hold an in-game ceremony for the 2022 MCW Awards. It features a large, purple theater with regular seats for viewers, a dining floor for nominees, and balconies for important users. Although the game worked well for the event, it is yet to be put to use since.
