History

Banana Myths was created on April 2nd, 2021.^[1] Notably, the Discord server currently used for Banana Myths was created in February, likely serving a different purpose prior to becoming the official Banana Myths Discord server.^[2] During the first two months of the group, it was mostly inactive, likely due to a combination of many factors. On June 17th, 2021, the first hunt in the group's Discord was held.^[3] During the rest of the year, a number of hunts would be held, and multiple new staff members would be promoted. On August 31st, 2021, the Banana Myths group would surpass 100 members.^[4] An increasing number of myths would also be promoted, including most notably J2417K, Itcamefromthesky and Inatisha. On December 24th, Banana Myths would surpass 200 members.^[5]

In January 2022, a small hiatus in the group would happen, due to an unrelated dispute between Iateabanma and another hunter. In March, the myths reaperimpaler and EggyCatcher would be promoted, with EggyCatcher being the group's first official investigation. In April, the game "Studio-56", then known as "Studio-305" would be released under the Banana Myths group.^[6] This game contained an auditorium and a small myth museum for some of the myths in the group. During the rest of the year, more myths would be promoted, such as ElderSentinal, Realitatable and TOWNGOS. In July, Banma would announce that they were going on an indefinite break from the group.^[7] This only lasted around a month, as he would soon after return on August 22nd.^[8] In October, the group would hit 300 members, and an announcement would be made about a remake for "Studio-56".^[9]

In January 2023, a Twitter account for Banana Myths would be created.^[10] Over the course of the next few months, multiple changes would be made to the group, including the addition of allies, change of rank titles, new staff and new myths. On August 28th, the group would reach 500 members.^[11] Some myths that were added during this time include Dystotle, HeWhoShallNotBeBaned, TheeLukee, Yshmeal and DownAtTheCreek.

In April 2024, the Banana Myths group officially go on an indefinite hiatus.^[12] The reasons stated for this were mainly lack of motivation and real life circumstances. Over the next year, the group would stay mostly inactive, until April 2025. During April, the group began becoming active again, coinciding with the graduation of Iateabanma. In May, Banana Myths would ally with Robloxian Myth Hunters and the the spiritual successor to Paradox of Myths, Classified Entity Archives.^[13] Coinciding with the new activity in the group, Banana Myths would begin growing rapidly, reaching a whopping 1.7K members by the end of June.^[14] By the end of the year, the group had a total of 3.5K members.^[14] Throughout the year, a large amount of new myths would be promoted, while new staff and allies were also added to the group. On December 15th, 2025, a new division of Banana Myths would be created, titled the "Banana Myths Trees Division".^[15] This group division would focus on hunting myths and creating documents for them.

In February 2026, the group would officially surpass four thousand members. Later on in March 2026, it would be announced that the group would be slowing down, although it would continue to be active. On June 13th, 2026, a joint hunt between Banana Myths, The Myth Union and Robloxian Myth Hunters will be held.
