Dig.— SmCult

SmCult is a myth account used by the Cult Family Rebirth group for the terminated myth SmithCult. This account was created in 2013 but was inactive until 2022, when the account would be used by Cult Family Rebirth for their lore and to host the game "End of Days."

Biography

James Adam Smith was born on the 29th of June, 1925. Little is known about his childhood, other than the fact that he grew up alongside his older brother, Don Michaels Smith. When he was quite young, he would meet Martha, who he would marry later on, and would have their only child in 1946, who they would name Brandon.

History

SmCult joined Roblox on the 5th of July, 2013, and created their game "End of Days." on the same day. Not much is known about the earliest period of this account, although it is known that they were active on this account, as they have various badges from games such as "The ROBLOX Winter Games Lodge", as well as the fact that the account has the "Friendship", "Combat Initiate" and "Warrior" Roblox badges prior to having the "Veteran" badge. This means that the account attained these different badges prior to their account being older than a year.

Other than this, little to nothing is known about the account's history, up until 2022. It is not known exactly when the account would begin to become active again, although the twitter account for SmCult was created in September 2022. Later on in October 2022, the SmCult account would be mentioned for the first time in the Cult Family Rebirth Discord server.

Personality and Traits

Despite never having been seen ingame, it is likely that SmCult acts similar to his original counterpart, presenting himself as a kind person. Below the surface, we know that SmCult was quite mentally ill, suffering from many panic attacks, having high anxiety, having anger issues and also hearing and seeing things which are not seen by others. It is likely that he suffered from Schizophrenia among other things, which led to his declining mental state never the end of his life.

Appearance

SmCult's current outfit consists of the "Politician Hair", "Stare" face, "Stubble Beard", "Blue Plaid Fedora", "Suit" t-shirt, "1980s Blue Slacks" pants and the "blue argyle vest" shirt.

Game

End of Days.

"End of Days" is SmCult's main game. This game takes place in the home of Smith, Brandon and Martha, with the different segments of the house being unlocked through different events. This game is relatively short, but has two endings which adds a level of replayability to the game. The game also uses complex gameplay elements such as cutscenes.

When the player joins, they will be met with a cutscene of Smith's car approaching The Smith Household, which takes place in Boonesville, Virginia, in 1961. Once the cutscene ends, the player is now standing outside of the front door of the Smith Household. Entering the house, they will see a small room to the left of the door, which features a cabinet, chair, various smaller items and a basement door. Also in this room is phone and an answering machine, which will begin to the ring and eventually play a phone call from Martha. Once this audio has player, the player can continue to the living room of the house, in which they can find many details such as images of the Smith family strewn across the walls.

In this room is a gramophone, which the player can activate by clicking on it. This will make a short old-timey song to play, which is eventually interrupted by the sudden ringing of the telephone in the first room. Walking over to the phone and clicking on it will cause the lights to dim briefly and make an image fall off the wall. Walking towards the living room will cause the cross on the wall to fall, now resembling an upside cross often associated with Satanism, and for the door to the rest of the home to open.

From here, the player can access two different endings, the first, known as "The Murderer Ending", can be accessed by entering Smith and Martha's bedroom. This room notably features two interactable objects, one being a small note hanging outside of a cabinet. This note comes from "Lucy Hicox", thanking Smith for taking care of their son David while the Hicox family was unavailable. This is referencing DavidCult, as we know his full legal name is "David Jeremy Hicox", and he was born around the same time as BrandonCult. This is likely how he met the family and would eventually become the Patriarch of the Cult Family. The other notable object in this room is a shotgun, found to the left of the large bed. Clicking on this shotgun will cause a short cutscene to play, where Smith picks up the shotgun and loads it.

From there, the lighting becomes very distorted, and a knocking sound alongside a phone ringing can be heard. From there, the player can find a small note in the kitchen which was not there previously. This note seems to be from a mental hospital, and details various symptoms and events surrounding Smith. If the player walks to the door, a short cutscene will play in which Smith opens the door, and shots the gun. From there, the cutscene will transition to a view of a grave, with the text:

"My husband was such an interesting man. I'm not sure I can really express just how much I questioned his ethics. He was always an odd gentleman, he never really understood life. Goodbye Smith."

The second ending, known as "The True Ending", can be accessed by finding five unlit candles placed around The Smith Household. Once the player finds the five candles, the locked basement door will open. This basement has a few boxes, pieces of furniture, a fedora and a satanic star on the floor. Clicking this star will cause a cutscene to play, in which we can see Smith placing the candles on the five points of the star, and a black bible with a red cross appearing. This is a repeating prop in many Cult Family games, likely being their book of worship. After fading to black, text from the perspective of Smith will appear on the screen, stating:

"What would you consider to be your final moments? mine was fueled by anger of a life that I had lead myself up to from that point. Even with my final moments being anger, I felt achieved. To the end of my days I listened to the voice that grew louder and louder and it guided me through the best experience of my life, my work was not unaccounted for. Now I am forever looking for the next train station to take me back home."
