True_faces is a myth known for his game "You Look Happy” (previously ”Beneath the Mask”), and his involvement in the group, Mental Assistance Department, in which he is ranked as a Cure. He struggles with depression which would be aggravated after taking 'Cure 49'. True's game is meant to be the first game in the M.A.D myth.

Biography

True_faces is a 24 year old male suffering from severe depression. He became depressed after he lost the love of his life by the name of ‘Esmeralda’ after she went shopping.

To try to help him and overcome his bad mental state, his friend Enrique_Graves recommended him to go to the Mental Assistance Department, where Enrique works with his associates. The head doctor, Ipiprix, had proposed him to test out Cure#49, supposed to cure him from his depression. One of the effects of this cure includes removing the happiest memories from the subject in order to conserve them in a place where they would never disappear, nor be tainted by bad feelings. True accepted, so the memories of her beloved would be in safety. As the memories can be stored forever, it is considered as a kind of immortality, which plays an important role in the rest of the story.

However, this hasn’t happened without consequences: true forgot about the accident, and everything related to her girlfriend. He knew something happened, he knew he lost someone important to him - as shown in the game, where he’s constantly looking for her pictures - but he did not know who she was or why she died. He felt confused and lost as it felt like a piece of his life was missing but couldn’t remember anything or what it was about. Furthermore, the cure had plenty of side effects, affecting even more his mental state. Some of them consisted of hallucinations and increased trauma. These hallucinations mostly consisted in his environment being distorted and confusing, but also of eyes telling him that her death was his fault. This led to him feeling horribly guilty and not being able to cope with being himself, therefore he pretended to be someone else.

Ipiprix was delighted to have True as a test subject. It seemed that he knew that the cure was dangerous due to the past experiments and the side effects it had on former patients.

Later on, Cecil Montgomery had contacted true_faces after breaching the Department and finding the truth behind its activities and the cures, and explained everything that was going on at the place. True would then join Cecil on an adventure to get revenge on the Mind Walkers, where he would unfortunately pass away. In the afterlife, True is seen reunited with Esmeralda.

History

True_faces made his account in 5/20/2018, starting the story that would be complete within the next two years.

He used to have a first game called ‘You Look Happy’ but it was deleted due to the game implying suicide thus not respecting Roblox TOS. It was a much smaller myth until it first got noticed due to a small Roblox Tiktok trend created around May 2020, which consisted of walking along the corridor of "Judgment" or going through the different places of the game with sad music playing in the background. It then was played by Flamingo on June 20th, 2020, leading to a large rise in popularity. True was later featured in many other games related to the Mental Assistance Department. There was then an investigation document written about true_faces by retired myth hunter, purelabs. This was written on April 18th, 2020, for the Roblox's Myths Intelligence Agency. At this same point, the infamous Universities surprisingly wrote an investigation document on true_faces as well. A handful of months later on June 29th, 2020, another report was produced by a former agent named, MisterCelsius.

Appearance

True_faces' current outfit consists of a full gray body, other than his torso which is a blue color. His shirt is a Patch Rugby Shirt and his pants are Jordan jeans. He also wears the "Blonde Bloke" hair, Hold It In face, Nerd Glasses, and the "MyMind" t-shirt.

Personality & Traits

In game, True_faces has an introverted and sad personality. He is depressed but seems to answer questions fairly easily. He is not hostile with other players and moves around normally. His physical traits are like a normal human, although his skin tone is gray.

True_Faces appears to struggle from depression. As shown in the first version of his game, he has been in many suicidal situations. He struggles to find his identity and will of life. True however in game acts very reticent and rather reserved from considerably another else except for the people he knows, and Dr. Ipiprix.

The first version of the game You Look Happy detailed the decline of the mental health of true_faces. It is composed of a series of interconnected games, with the first half consisting of teleports that show several methods of suicide he used to end his own life, and the latter half consisting of puzzles that have ramifications for the entire M.A.D. series.

Mental Assistance Department is a popular myth group that true_faces is affiliated with. He has the "Cures" rank, as he was a part of an experiment with a potential cure for mortality, but this would only make things worse for him.

Ipiprix

Ipiprix is the head doctor of the Mental Assistance Department and was the one that gave True_faces ‘Cure 49’. He led many other experiences to find a cure for Mortality, alongside his associates, Enrique_Graves and Bart_Montgomery.

Enrique_Graves

Enrique works at the Mental Assistance Department and is his friend. He was the one that recommended True to go to the Department which ended up with him taking ‘Cure 49.'

Bart_Montgomery

Doctor associated with Ipiprix and Graves, he’s the one who supervised true’s behavior during his treatment with Cure#49.

Trivia

• True_faces ended up in the game ‘Jalcrl Nwm’ as he got a letter from someone called ‘C’ to meet him somewhere. He was then taken there by ‘C’.
• In Jalcrl Nwm, the player is given a weapon by true_faces. The shotgun is named after his girlfriend, Esmeralda.
• True_faces was originally a “one-and-done” myth and the story of M.A.D was planned to start with Ipiprix. Over time, the creator eventually ended up by incorporate You Look Happy as the first game of the series and the beginning of the lore.
• The real name of true_faces is Drew
